Hearing Tests: Audiometry is used to check how effective your hearing conservation measures are. It is needed if employees are exposed to high noise levels.

Screening audiometry is compulsory for employees exposed to 85dB(A) L.EPd (daily average exposure) and above.

Typical MMH/IPS clients are in the metal stamping and fabrication industry, timber, plastics moulding, packaging, aero-space, Petroleum, textile, paper mills, printing, raw material and construction industries. Audiometry is the control mechanism to check the effectiveness of your hearing conservation programs. It is an early warning system, which enables the employer to take steps to reduce future harm. Claims for noise-induced hearing loss are still the most common occupational health (compensation) claim and audiometry will control future claims by informing those at high risk to the benefits of wearing protective devices like ear plugs and muffs combined while working.

Our mobile hearing units are all equipped with sound-dampening booths and calibrated audiometers. We can perform 2 tests every 5-10 minutes, or approximately 20 per hour to reduce employee wait time. The resulting audiogram test results are categorised as specified by the Federal OSHA standards.

Employees with noise-induced hearing loss are identified, as are any changes which may have occurred since a previous test. Non noise-induced hearing losses are also recorded. You receive the audiogram for each employee, with the individual evaluation, as well as a complete management report. Each employee receives a written explanation and further recommendations if needed.
